| CAPTION: This freshly killed whale is bleeding out on an ice shelf at the floe edge. Although extremely rare, this tusked whale turned out to be a female. Normally, only males have tusks. This whale was shot and was sinking when fortunately a tourist was standing by and raced out in their kayak to hook and pull the whale back to the ice edge for the hunter. Otherwise, it was about to sink. |
